Second Sales: What are they?

When I first started cloth diapering, I wish someone had told me about how to get diapers for very cheap!! As I have been around the cloth diapering world for a little longer I have discovered SECONDS SALES!!! Boy are these great!

Second sales offer diapers or accessories that have minor defects created during the manufacturing process. Often these defects are very minor and you can't even notice. For instance, I bought some covers that had leg elastics that were made a little too tight, or coloring that was just a little off.

In this post, I hope to compile a list of manufacturers that offer these "second sales" on a regular basis. Please note that these sales come and go, so some of the links may not be valid depending if there is a current sale or not.

Do you have any favorite second sales? Let me know and I will add them to my list!

  1. These sales are what made me fall in love with Swaddlebees/Blueberry. Their clearance section used to be full of seconds and it was more of an outlet and there wasn't so much competition to get the items. Ahh, the good old days! ;) Anyway, I got a bunch of old style AIOs from there and they are still some of my favorites this time around. Seconds are a great way to get diapers!

  2. Also, wetbags are great to buy as seconds. Most of mine are Leslie's Boutique seconds (back from when she sold through her own site--I'm old, lol!) and the handle might just be an inch or so off, or the snap is the wrong color, or the seams aren't straight. Minor things like that.

  3. I am doing a review of Dapa Diapers (www.dapadiapers.com) an online retailer of North American cloth diaper seconds. They sell Monkey Doodlez, Fuzzibunz, Dri-Line, Sweet Pea and more.

My review will be posted tomorrow at www.babygiveawaysgalore.com

Their diaper was the first second I had ever tried.
