Real Diapers, Real Solutions: Poopy Diapers On-the-Go

Photobucket
**WARNING: This post contains poopy pictures. If you have a weak stomach, beware.**

So if you Cloth Diaper while you are out and about, you will no doubt (like my rhyming...ha ha) have to deal with a poopy diaper!!I have a few suggestions to help make it easy for you!

If you are like me, you want to rinse those diapers out as soon as you can, this will help to prevent stains. But then arises the real question...does your friend or family member really want you rinsing out your cloth diapers in her sink or tub? My guess is NOT REALLY...so here is a quick and easy solution.
Photobucket
Photobucket1) Grab some spare plastic bags and throw them in your diaper bag. (I don't know about you, but I have a ton of these around the house because I always forget my reusable bags when I go grocery shopping. I like to re purpose them for garbage bags for small pails, wet wipes, or poopy diapers).

2) After your baby poos, grab the insert or diaper and place it in the plastic bag. Easy enough right??

3) Next, place diaper inside the bag in the sink or tub. Fill it with cold water and give the bag a little shake and swish of course while holding the bag shut, so you don't splash the poo water everywhere! You can also let the diaper soak for a few minutes if you would like (and noone will complain).

4) Once you have gotten the majority of the poops off, you can dump the water in the toilet! You can also squeeze out the insert/diaper from inside the bag...allowing you to keep your hands semi-clean:) I will spare you a picture of  me dumping the poopy water in the toilet! How nice of me right:-)

Photobucket5) Next you can throw the diaper into your wetbag and you're DONE! So simple and easy!! Plus you spare your friends and family a poopy mess!

So how do you handle poopy diapers on-the-go?

  2. I'm still in the breast milk poo stage so I don't do anything with mine except throw it in the diaper pail, but I'll definitely remember this for later on. Actually it's coming pretty soon. We're just starting solids.

  14. Never would have thought of doing this - I use flushable liners, and then put the diaper in my wetbag (rinse it out when I get home and do scrubbing if needed)

  15. Good idea. I'm still new to traveling with cloth, but will probably use this idea when traveling out of the house longer than a day. Someone should come up with a portable cleaning system!!!

  17. My husband and I are lazy. We tried cloth diapering on the go, and gave up after a few months. We tended to be gone for 2-3 days, and would end up running out of cloth before getting to a washing facility anyway, so we'd have to switch to spozies and still tote around the dirty cloth. Now we cloth diaper at home, and spozie when we're out.

  18. My husband and I gave up on cloth diapering whilst away from home. We tend to be gone for 2-3 days at a time, and we run out of cloth and end up switching to spozies anyway, and we still have to tote around the dirty cloth. Now we spozie dipe when we're out, and cloth diaper at home.

  19. My daughter's poop is usually solid, so I just plop the poop in a toilet and rinse the diaper at home.
