Jack's Choice: Fluffy Sponsor Interview

I don't know about you, but I love reading all of these interviews from the owners of Cloth Diapering Shops! I love to hear how they got started and what it really takes! Jack's Choice is run by Staci and named after her son Jack! Jack's Choice provides great top-notch customer service! My favorite feature that she offers is her "Personal Shopper" feature. Since Jack's Choice is just starting out, if there is something you would like, and you don't see it in their store, they will do their best to find it for you and at an inexpensive price! I love that! Jack's Choice is also carrying Booty Buns Cloth Diapers as well!

Be sure to follow Jack's on their BlogFacebook and Twitter for the latest deals and updates! This may also pay off as they are donating a little something to my big event!

Did you always know that you wanted to Cloth Diaper your Children?
No, I don't even remember what got me started thinking about it, but I didn't even take the plunge until my son was about 10 months old.

How did you first get involved in Cloth Diapering or Learn about it?
I had a friend who was doing it and showed me the cute diapers.  I knew I needed to start trying to save money because my husband was working in Iraq, and we really wanted him to come home.

What was the first diaper you purchased?
I started with a cloth diaper trial from Jillian's Drawers, and that's what I recommend to anyone asking me about starting out.  From the trial, I kept a Smartipants and a Fuzzibunz.

Your Favorite Cloth Diaper?
That original Smartipants is still my go-to diaper.  I recently tried out a Booty Buns diaper though, and I'm really loving it so far!

Essential (Must-Have) Cloth Diaper Accessory?
Flushable liners

Snaps or Aplix?
Snaps...my son was already starting to take off his diapers when I started cloth-ing, so the snaps were a great choice!

How did you come up with the name Jack's Choice for your store?
Jack is my son's name.  I was brainstorming names with my family.  My dad is the one that suggested Jack's Choice.  It just sounded right. :)

What made you want to start your own store/business?
I've worked kind of odd jobs since 2008 because I've been unable to secure a stable job.  I freaked out one day thinking about what I'd do if something happened to my husband.  How would I provide for myself let alone my child?  A store of this type was something I had been dreaming about, so I went home that night and did a ton of research on starting a business and decided to just dive right in head first.  It's been a journey, and I've learned so much!  Luckily I had a little previous business experience before starting.

Future goals for Jack's Choice?
Our short term goal is to expand our product selection.  Our long term goal has always been to open a brick and mortar store in Denton, TX.  I know it will be very long term, so I'm definitely in this for the long haul. :)

Most unique feature of Jack's Choice?
We showcase WAHM products and love doing that!  We also recently started a personal shopping service.  Since we don't have a large variety of products, if there's something you're looking for that we don't have, we would love to see if we can find it at a cheaper price for you!  We've had success so far!

What do you like to do in your spare time (not cloth diaper related)?
What spare time? :P  I spend all of my "spare time" with my son, Jack.  On my husband's days off, I like to spend family time with him also.  I'm trying to get into crafting and would love to be one of my own WAHM vendors someday.

  2. Wow, the personal shopping is pretty cool. And I'm curious that the must have diaper accessory is flushable liners. I've never tried them, but do you put them down with every single diaper change? Doesn't that get expensive? Does it completely eliminate the need to spray?

    1. I have not had to use them yet, but from what I hear, you just put the liner down when you know they haven't pooped in awhile...so if you know their poop pattern, if they even have a poop pattern, you can tell when the are "due." Hope this helps!!

    2. Flushable liners are great! If you put one in a diaper that doesn't get pooped in, you can throw the liner in your diaper pail and wash and reuse it. Depending on the brand, they'll hold up for 3 or 4 washes. My son has a pretty predictable pooping schedule, so I just put one in his diaper when he's expected to poop next. I have not eliminated my need for a sprayer because I still use it for surprise poops with no liner or if the liner gets twisted and doesn't catch all the poop. Hope that helps! :)

  4. Wow personal shopper feature sound fun!! I have never tried the flushable liner either. We have been debating using it for our next baby right after they are first born just so we don't have to mess with the newborn fun :)
